Careers at Animal Hospital of Ovilla

Join our team of passionate professionals at an established, growing, independently owned practice with a reputation for excellent medicine and compassionate care.

Our location has all the friendliness of a small town with easy access to the Metroplex. With our family of coworkers and a shared commitment to best-practice veterinary medicine, every day is personally and professionally rewarding.

We’re looking for:

  • Veterinarians
  • Licensed vet techs
  • Non-licensed but experienced vet techs
  • Vet tech assistants
  • Client care reps (CCRs)

Why Join the AHO Team?

We’re independently owned, not part of a corporate hospital group. That means we make our own decisions about how we practice medicine and can be flexible when life happens.

We also have a fabulously cohesive team. Staff members have called us a “unicorn” practice because we work so well together. If you’re going to spend hours of your week at work, it should be fun and rewarding!

We let our licensed/certified/experienced technicians use their skills. Our techs draw blood, place catheters, intubate, administer anesthesia, give injections, and provide client education. Our CCRs are valued as the important front-line support they are and encouraged to earn Certified Veterinary Assistant credentials. With an 8:1 support staff-to-doctor ratio, our team enables doctors to focus on practicing medicine.

We’re the best in the area!

We have a great reputation for diagnostics — other area clinics routinely refer cases to us. We have all the expected tools (digital radiography, digital dental radiography, laser, ultrasound, in-house lab, and fluorescent light therapy) plus a newly remodeled and expanded facility.

We’re the only clinic on this side of Dallas that sees exotics, and we see a lot of them: hedgehogs, guinea pigs, iguanas, bearded dragons, tortoises, parrots, macaws, chickens, ducks, kangaroos, and prairie dogs, to name a few.

We also offer acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine with a board-certified TCVM veterinarian.

We believe in providing the highest-quality medicine possible—and our clients expect it. We also believe in making our clients and their pets feel like family, and our reviews show we’re doing just that.

We take care of our team!

We aren’t open late or on weekends. Hospital hours are 7 am–6:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Most staff members work four-day workweeks because we value work-life balance.

For doctors, our experienced surgeon mentors new graduates, and all our doctors provide diagnostic mentorship.
Techs and CCRs undergo thorough training — we don’t just throw you in the water and see if you can swim.

Benefits include:

  • Paid vacation, holidays, and parental leave (4 weeks)
  • Contribution toward medical insurance
  • Paid licensing fees, liability insurance (doctors), and association dues
  • CE stipend
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Pet care discount
  • Uniforms provided
  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
